John was born in Toronto, Canada. He became involved with his parents in the founding of Immanuel Church in Riverside, Calgary in 1949. He served with them for 14 years until their retirement, then assumed the pastorate. He is now providing pastoral care to seniors.

John has ministered on five continents and has served on the board of 19 Christian charities. He is currently the speaker on The Miracle Hour of the Sunrise Gospel Association, which is the oldest Christian radio broadcast to be produced in Alberta. He is the Fellowship Coordinator for the Fellowship of Christian Assemblies of Cananda. John also serves on the Board of 15 para-church missions agencies, and is president of the Maranatha Evangelistic Association which facilitates missionaries serving in 12 countries. He is also the director of our Farsi program, Voice of Love, which is hosted by Dr. Seyed Masood Mostofi. John lives in the Calgary area with his wife, Doris. They have three grown children. One is a pastor, and the other two live in Hong Kong. John has been the Canadian Representative for GRO since 2004.
